Disincentive towards innovation in the pharmaceutical sector Recently, the Grupo Interministerial de Propriedade Intelectual - GIPI (Interministerial Group of Intellectual Property), associated with the Ministério do Desenvolvimento, Indústria e Comércio Exterior - MDIC (Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade), made a protest against the protection, by a patent, of inventions of "according to medical use" and of polymorphic forms.
