Business Breakfast – Aspects of patent examination in the chemical-pharmaceutical area – ANVISA operations

SWISSCAM and the Law firm Dannemann Siemsen, specialized in industrial property sponsored the seminar "Aspects of patent examinations in the chemical –pharmaceutical area – ANVISA operations" on May 10 in Sao Paulo.

The meeting, which brought together some 30 guests, featured participation of Alexandre Lourenço, examiner and researcher in Industrial Property of the Brazilian Trademarks and Patents Office the INPI, and Ronaldo Luiz Pires, legal director of Interfarma. At that time Lourenço presented aspects concerning chemical and pharmaceutical patent examinations. Pires defended investments in research and development for new medications as a competitive strategy to maintain and expand participation of pharmaceutical laboratories on the market.
