Águas do Brasil
Aproveite!
Águas do Brasil (Waters of Brazil)
The new book, Águas do Brasil (Waters of Brazil), by photographer Araquém Alcântara has just been released. The book brings photos illustrating Brazil’s abundant water resources while silently, but eloquently, denouncing the country’s neglect and leniency in a festival of blow-ups, colors and details that represent the photographer’s critical eye.The artist says, “If nothing is done to protect Brazil’s water streams and nature, the country’s future generations will hold us responsible for the destruction, which goes on unimpeded. We have to do something about it”.
The book shows that depletion of the world’s fresh water reserves is a serious problem and reminds us that the largest watersheds on the planet are located in Brazil.
This issue of the SWISSCAM magazine brings some of the beautiful photos published in the book. Enjoy!
